Varsity Co Head Coach Diggy Riley
Coach Riley played college water polo at UC Irvine his first
two years, and was All-American his sophomore year. That
year, his team went 30-0 and won the NCAA National
Championships. He transferred to USC his junior and
senior year where he earned All-American honors as well.
In addition, Diggy played on the Junior
National & National Teams for 10
years. Diggy is the current Head
Coach of the Boy's Varsity Water Polo
Team as well.
Diggy has been managing investment
portfolios for 21 years and has been
married to his wife Sally for 23 years.
They live in Huntington Beach along with
their son Tanner 22 - Recently graduated
from UC San Diego, who graduated from
Edison in 2006 and their daughter Lindsay,
20 - Pre Nursing at Long Beach State.

Diggy played two years of water polo at Edison
before transferring to Newport Harbor High
School in 1980, where he led his team to back
to back CIF Championships. He was an All-
American all 4 years of High School including
earning First -Team honors in his junior and
senior years.

Coach Keith Ryan begins his sixth
season with Varsity Swim Team
Coach Ryan received his masters degree in
counseling at Long Beach State in 2010 and
graduated from UC Irvine in 2006. Aside from his
coaching duties at Edison, he and his
wife Aleah coach masters swimming
down the road at OCC.
Varsity Co Head Coach Keith Ryan
Keith Ryan returns for his 6th season with the boys team,
and third with the lady Chargers. Under coach Ryan, the
boys varsity team won a league championship in 2005, and
were league runner up in 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010. The
lady Chargers won the school’s first CIF Division I
championship in 2009, and finished a close second in
2010.
Coach Ryan graduated from Edison High School in 2002
as a four-year member of the Varsity team. Ryan was
league champion in the 200 IM in 2002, a three-time All-
American, Sunset League Swimmer of the Year, and was
inducted into the Edison Athletics Hall of Fame. He brings
with him nearly 20 years of competitive swimming
experience at the club, high school, collegiate, and masters
levels.
Ryan swam at UC Irvine for two seasons, and has been
involved in both triathlon and masters swimming
competitions in recent years. In June 2011, alongside his
mom (Dana, 52), dad (John, 52), and younger brother Kyle
(22), Keith will compete in his 3rd Ironman triathlon in
Coeur d’ Alene Idaho.
